New Beginnings

At the start of every year in Young Women's, we have a New Beginnings program.  As the title suggests, it's a time to reevaluate, recommit, and start fresh.  This year we used the Mutual Theme "Arise and Shine Forth" as a focus.  The girls each spoke and shared great messages, then we released balloons with glow sticks inside as the girls recited the Young Women Theme.  They were encouraged to think of what they can do this year to arise and shine forth.  In my remarks I commented on how arise and shine is the exact opposite of blending in, which is our natural tendency sometimes, especially during the teenage years.  These girls are all such great examples to me, and I love working with them!
