Eli's Birthday

Eli, our first boy, turned 10 on February 2nd.  We had a busy weekend on his actual birthday so being the good, easy going boy he is, he agreed to celebrate with dinner out at Red Robin the following week.  Eli is growing up and maturing so quickly.  He is a HUGE help around the house and has even taken on some babysitting responsibilities, of his siblings.  On the first night that we let him babysit for a little while, we came home to find all the kids tucked into bed and the entire kitchen and family room cleaned, dishes done, counters wiped.  We were impressed to say the least.  Eli's doing very well in school and loves to run in PE.  He's constantly challenging himself to improve and work harder which are skill sets that will serve him well as he grows.  We sure love this boy and appreciate his kind hearted thoughtful ways.  It's hard to believe it's been a decade since he was born.  The time has gone by so quickly!  We are so fortunate that he's breaking us into parenting boys as he's just oh so good.

Eli had a party with some friends from church.  We played minute-to-win-it games which the kids loved.  Ben was at school the night we had the party so I was flying solo which was a little tricky.

The is the face the cookie challenge where the kids had to eat the cookie without using their hands.

We also did sock head bowling, and a game where they blow cotton balls with straws.  We also played a candy stealing game which is a hit with all my kids.  I'm not sure if it was the age or the mix of kids but these guys were competitive!  They were wild!

The birthday boy!

I love this picture.  It captures the silly dramatic side of my boy.

The whole gang.
