As I mentioned previously, Liam fell off the bunk bed and hurt his arm just before our Utah trip. Then, while we were gone, he fell off a scooter and re-injured said arm. The night we got home, Seth gently squeezed Liam's arm and he came unglued. At that point we knew a trip to the doctor for an x-ray was in order. The doctors decided he needed a cast for six weeks to let the bone fully heal. Take note that he got the cast on just three days before our family lake trip. Luckily we were able to order this amazing latex cast cover that protected his cast and arm in a vacuum seal so that he could still swim and get wet to his heart's content. Liam is our little fish after all.
Getting the cast on, the first time anyway. He chose yellow. He looks pretty proud of himself doesn't he?
My Aunt Lynda sent us these cool cast tattoos that her friend sells. Liam thought he was hot stuff and loved the attention he got from his cool looking arm.
After sporting the yellow flames for several weeks, Liam spiked a really high fever with no other symptoms. The cast was really smelly from sweat and moisture and sand and dirt and who knows what else, so Ben took him to the ER because we were worried that he may have had a skin infection under the cast. Alas, he did not, he had a double ear infection, with no ear pain, (weird), but they had to take the cast off anyway to check and so he spent the last stint of his cast wearing days in a black one, like a spy he said.
