On March 13th, my sister gave birth to her first baby, Abigail Elizabeth. Meg had been having symptoms of preeclampsia and had a few trips to the hospital for monitoring because of it. On one of her overnight stays, the doctors surprised her by announcing that they wanted to take the baby that night. So arriving 6 weeks early, baby Abby made her appearance at 4 lbs 6 oz. She's surely the tiniest baby I've ever laid hands on. She's adorable and we are excited for Megan and Jared as they embark on their journey of parenthood. Although I'm sure my sister would prefer I not share the details of her birth story to the world, let me just say she is such a strong lady. They attempted to put in an epidural 5 times before they gave up. Her spine is fused together in spots, so they ended up having to put her out completely with general anesthesia before doing the c-section. No one, ever her husband, was allowed in the operating room, but we all got to watch the delivery through a reflection in a picture hanging in the hallway. Shhh, don't tell! It was such a thrill! I've only ever been there for my own babies' births so this was a new perspective for me. It was spiritual and emotional watching a new little life enter the world. Abby was pretty feisty right from the get go, letting out a hearty cry, and only had to stay in the hospital for a week and a half. I'm so impressed with how naturally my sister has taken to motherhood. I guess she can thank me for giving her lots of practice (wink)!
We snapped some cute pics of Abby shortly after she came home. Here are a few of my favorites.
Abby, 13 days, Ammon, 4.5 months
We had a baby shower for Meg just a few days before Abby came home.
Crepes were on the menu.
These pictures say "first comes love, then comes marriage, then comes the baby in the baby carriage." We used the same images on the invitations.
Ammon and Grammy

The loot
Meg, Sariah, Mom, Meilani and Me
Me and my girls. It was really fun to have a girly day just with them. I sure love em...even if they won't smile on command.

I have a picture of Brady and Eli that look like the one of Abby and Ammon, you really don't think your baby is that big until you put them next to a newborn...I thought Eli looked like a toddler compared to Brady!
