The Newest Fobert!

Seth Ikaika Fobert joined our family on Monday, November 2, 2009 at 2:19 pm. Weighing in at a mere 7lbs 15 oz and 21 3/4 inches long, he's quite a little runt for our family! I was induced Monday morning and the labor and delivery went very smoothly. The longest part was getting the IV situated and the drugs in me. I was dialated to 3 wehn I got to the hospital and went from 4 to delivery in just under an hour. That's why he has such a cute round head! The hospital was awesome with large private rooms and wonderful nurses and doctors. I was the only patient in labor and delivery the whole time I was there so I recieved the royal treatment. It was great. The only bummer was that none of the kids could come to the hospital because of the H1N1 situation. We had planned for Eli to come to the birth so when he got to the hospital and found out he couldn't stay, there were quite a few tears. Thankfully Gramy was able to drive him home, and Titi was there to offer comfort and care! The kids did come to the hospital one night and stood in the courtyard below my room so that we could wave out the window. They were ADORABLE blowing kisses and waving up at Seth, Ben, and me. I want to etch that picture on my memory forever! What a great family we've been blessed with!!!

Seth just after his first bath.

Super excited (and relieved!) Mom and Dad.

Since Eli didn't make it to the delivery he was first to hold his new baby brother.

Liam was quite adoring and was so soft and gentle with Seth.

Sariah says she and Seth are "S buddies" since their names both start with "S."

Meilani, quite the little mama already!

And then reality hit in!!!!! Liam didn't want to be in a group shot, Sariah didn't want to put her hand on Seth, Meilani was just plain irritable, and Eli was mad he didn't get to hold Seth on his lap. Ahhh the joys of family life. We'll try for another all kid photo op another day. (Not pictured: Ben mad that we have to drive back to the hospital to get the laptop I forgot; Danelle verging on tears wondering if one more night in the hospital would have been a good idea.)

Yay!!! I am so happy for you guys. You have such a beautiful family, and Seth is so cute. I love the comment too. It's kind of comforting to know that everyone has some reality though. Someday we'll catch up to you.

That's awesome that you were in L & D alone and getting the royal treatment. We went to that hospital when Silas broke his arm 2 months ago and it is reeeeeeally nice. (The ER was empty when we arrived).

I cried reading your post about the kids waving through the window to him! You really do have a great family and I just love you all so much!! You and Ben look so happy in the picture with Seth. I'm so happy to be right next door (for a little while at least) and be able to watch your family grow more!

Congrats Fobert family! I can't believe you have FIVE kids now...I can remember when you were pregnant with Meilani back in Hawaii. Seth is adorable, as are the rest of the kids. We love Seth's Hawaiian middle name. Try to get some rest. I'm sure the older kids will be a huge help. We love you guys!
